TMT dedicated an afternoon to the Tools for Schools program at Grout Elementary School by packing school supplies into backpacks that were provided by Schoolhouse Supplies; a non-profit organization that provides necessary school materials to students and teachers in public schools. Schoolhouse Supplies Tools for Schools program has put more than 114,000 backpacks in the hands of students in need for over a decade and supports schools where 65% or more of the students are eligible for free or reduced lunch. This year, the TMT team had a chance to interact with the children while helping them pick up their backpacks and school supplies– the kids were especially enthused about the ability to color code their supplies. It was a great kickoff to their upcoming school year and we can’t wait for next year!
TMT is committed to being active in our local community and one of the organizations we support annually is Habitat for Humanity. The TMT team helped by putting the finishing touches on a few homes at Trillium Court in Southwest Portland. It was great opportunity to get out of the office, strap on our tool belts, and work with other community members to build homes for some deserving families.
TMT was excited to participate in the Adopt-A-Family program again this holiday season. Through generous donations from our employees, we were able to provide holiday gifts for a young mother and her three children. Giving back to the community is at the heart of what we do here at TMT, and we were honored to help bring joy to this family during the holidays!
Some of Portland’s top executives recently gathered and rolled up their sleeves for Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East’s annual Executive Build including TMT President & CEO, Vanessa Sturgeon. Hosted by Cambia Health Solutions, the group spent the day raising beams at Habitat’s new Trillium Court development in Southwest Portland.
TMT Development has long been a supporter of Habitat and their mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. By providing families with the opportunity of affordable home ownership, Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East and their volunteers are committing to the future of our local communities.
TMT recently spent the day volunteering at the Project Lemonade space at Delta Park Center. Employees helped sort and tag clothing for Project Lemonade’s annual pop-up shop, which ran from July 25th to August 25th, 2014. Each year local companies, individuals, and organizations donate clothing, shoes, and accessories so that foster youth can shop for free back-to-school clothes. Project Lemonade’s mission is to provide foster youth with a back-to-school shopping experience that will inspire self-esteem. Since 2012, they have served over 3,000 children and teens from the Portland metro area.
TMT Development employees recently spent the day with Habitat for Humanity putting the finishing touches on two of the final homes in the SE 171st & Division Street development, the largest Habitat build in Oregon. We grabbed our brushes and spent a beautiful day painting the siding and trim of two homes that will soon be ready for it’s new occupants. Giving back to our community is a core tenet at TMT, and we were happy to help deserving families get closer to achieving their dream of home ownership!
