The 2nd annual Women of Color Empowerment Conference was held yesterday in Portland. Co-hosted by the Portland Business Alliance and the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce, the event brought together some of Portland’s top women leaders to discuss how they conduct business with integrity and ethical sensitivity. Following a keynote from Higher Education Coordinating Commission Chief of Staff Cheryl Myers, TMT President & CEO Vanessa Sturgeon joined Kay Toran of Volunteers of America Oregon and Janet LaBar of Greater Portland, Inc,, to discuss concrete strategies to empower women in business.
The Daily Journal of Commerce 2015 Newsmakers Luncheon was held yesterday at the Sentinel Hotel. TMT President & CEO Vanessa Sturgeon was on hand to accept a posthumous 2015 Newsmakers award on behalf of her grandfather, TMT founder Tom Moyer. Park Avenue West, Moyer’s final project, was recognized as having significant impact during the coming year. Hosted by Cambia Health Solutions, the group spent the day raising beams at Habitat’s new Trillium Court development in Southwest Portland.

The Park Avenue West Tower project was recently honored with the Lease of the Year award for the signing of anchor tenant Stoel Rives at the Portland Business Journal’s Better Bricks Commercial Real Estate Awards breakfast. Capacity Commercial Group represented TMT Development in the lease deal, along with Cushman & Wakefield, who represented Stoel Rives. Stoel Rives will occupy nine floors of Park Avenue West Tower when it opens in 2016.
TMT was recently honored with the 2014 Deal of the Year award at Portland Business Journal’s Better Bricks Commercial Real Estate Awards ceremony for Park Avenue West Tower. Upon accepting the award, TMT President & CEO, Vanessa Sturgeon thanked First Republic Bank, Columbia Bank, Hoffman Construction and TVA Architects for their commitment and dedication to the project, as well as the citizens of Portland for their support in getting the Park Avenue West Tower project going again.
TMT Development President Vanessa Sturgeon was the featured guest at CREW Portland‘s July Program. Vanessa was on hand to share the story of Park Avenue West Tower, a project she has overseen since its inception. Park Avenue West Tower is due to open in 2016 and has already been pre-certified as LEED Platinum.
