Welcome to TMT, Benson!

Benson_TMT Development_Portland_Oregon

TMT Development is proud to announce that we will be welcoming Benson Nsanzabandi to our team this summer as an intern. Benson is currently in his Junior year at the University of Rwanda College of Business and Economics studying Finance. He will be working closely with our Accounting Department during his internship, but will also gain exposure to other areas within the company.

Benson is a Congolese refugee currently living in Gihembe Refugee Camp in Rwanda. TMT has partnered with the nonprofit organization These Numbers Have Faces to make this internship a reality for him. These Numbers is dedicated to investing in young leaders from six African countries by granting them a summer in the United States with a company who will help them grow professionally. They have invested in over 4,000 students to date and will continue to do so. TMT is excited to be a part of Benson’s journey. He will be far away from home and would love to meet new faces. If you see him around, please do not hesitate to say hello!

Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity at Helensview

Ready to get to work!
Ready to get to work!

Volunteering in our local community is important to TMT, and Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East is an amazing organization that we always enjoy working with. For 35 years they have provided stability and housing to hard-working, low-income families who need it the most. Last Friday the TMT team put on our hard hats, braved the heat, and headed out to work on homes at Helensview, a new Habitat development in the Cully neighborhood of NE Portland. Once completed, Helensview will house 21 hard-working, local families and approximately 60 children. We had a great day painting, digging, and bonding with other volunteers in our community.

TMT & Schoolhouse Supplies help kids get ready to go back to school

TMT dedicated an afternoon to the Tools for Schools program at Grout Elementary School by packing school supplies into backpacks that were provided by Schoolhouse Supplies; a non-profit organization that provides necessary school materials to students and teachers in public schools. Schoolhouse Supplies Tools for Schools program has put more than 114,000 backpacks in the hands of students in need for over a decade and supports schools where 65% or more of the students are eligible for free or reduced lunch.  This year, the TMT team had a chance to interact with the children while helping them pick up their backpacks and school supplies– the kids were  especially enthused about the ability to color code their supplies. It was a great kickoff to their upcoming school year and we can’t wait for next year!

Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity

TMT is committed to being active in our local community and one of the organizations we support annually is  Habitat for Humanity. The TMT team helped by putting the finishing touches on a few homes at Trillium Court in Southwest Portland. It was great opportunity to get out of the office, strap on our tool belts, and work with other community members to build homes for some deserving families.

TMT gives gifts this holiday season – Adopt-a-Family

TMT was excited to participate in the Adopt-A-Family program again this holiday season. Through generous donations from our employees, we were able to provide holiday gifts for a young mother and her three children. Giving back to the community is at the heart of what we do here at TMT, and we were honored to help bring joy to this family during the holidays!

TMT Development is happy to announce our support of the Knight Cancer Challenge through the Unite for the Knight campaign by matching employee donations 2 to 1.

Unite for the Knight is a coalition of business and labor that has come together to help the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute raise the $500 million dollars that Phil and Penny Knight have pledged to match. The $1 billion, two year challenge will help fund new research facilities to end cancer as we know it.

Holiday Giving at TMT Development: Adopt-A-Family Program

Giving back to those in need is one of TMT Development’s core tenets. To that end, we were excited to participate in the Adopt-A-Family program for the second year in a row.   Through the generous donations  from our employees, we were able to provide holiday gifts for a single mother and her three children. We were humbled and honored to help bring joy to the family and making sure they wouldn’t go without this holiday season. Our office tree looked beautiful surrounded by presents!
